The Wagner Tuning Competition Gen.2 Intercooler is a serious cooling upgrade for the facelift Hyundai i30N (2021+). It’s built to keep intake temperatures in check during hard driving, track use, and tuned applications where the standard intercooler struggles to cope.

An intercooler’s job is to cool the compressed air coming from the turbo before it enters the engine. Cooler, denser air means more reliable power and less risk of the ECU pulling timing to protect the engine. The bigger and more efficient the intercooler, the better it can handle repeated boost cycles without heat soaking.

What makes it different to the OEM intercooler

This kit uses a new generation Tube Fin competition core measuring 580 x 150 x 135.4 mm plus a stepped section of 580 x 62 x 70 mm, giving a total core volume of 14.3 litres. Compared to the standard Hyundai unit, that’s a 44.3% larger face area and over 100% more net volume, all while keeping pressure drop to a minimum so the turbo doesn’t have to work harder to push air through it.

The cast aluminium end tanks have been CAD-designed and refined using CFD (computer airflow simulation) to smooth out internal flow. A custom air baffle is included to direct air through the core properly and protect airflow to nearby components like the water radiator behind it.
